Ordering

Being gardeners ourselves, we’d like to make the ordering process as easy and convenient as possible. Once your selection has been made, you can either e-mail or phone in your requests. Bear in mind that some of the recent cultivars are in very limited quantities. If we are unable to supply some of your choices, we will contact you via e-mail/phone to inform you of availability and/or suggest alternatives.

We guarantee our plants to be true to name and we won’t substitute (even for a better cultivar) without your approval. Furthermore, we only ship plants we would be happy to receive, well-rooted and freshly dug up.

For larger orders, in lieu of discounts, we offer bonus plants/fans (subject to availability).

Pricing

Once the selection process is finalized, plants will be set aside upon receipt of payment. Since we are set up to process credit cards, it makes the process much easier. We also accept cheques and payments via Paypal using our sales@artemesiadaylilies.com address.

Please make cheques payable to Artemesia Daylilies. Please refrain from sending cash in the mail!
In the case of personal cheques, we will ship your plants once the funds have been cleared.

Shipping

Because of the time needed to dig up the plants, prep them for shipping and going to the post office, our minimum order is $50, taxes extra.

Your plants will be shipped on Monday or Tuesday. Shipping charges are to be paid by the customer using our preferred method of shipment, ExpressPost. (If you prefer us to use another carrier, please let us know.)

Since charges will vary according to size and number of plants, we will notify you of anticipated charges and then bill you accordingly on your credit card.

We will ship your plants bareroot, foliage trimmed to about 5 inches. To guarantee the safe arrival of your plants, our shipping season (El Niño or not!) is from the end of May to the end of September.

So far, in over 18 years of being in the plant world, we haven’t had a single glitch re: shipping (knock on wood!). This being said, once the plants leave our hands, we cannot be held liable for errors made by Canada Post or any other carrier (for your benefit, an insurance option is available from Canada Post at $1.00. Let us know if you want to take advantage of that option).

You can also make arrangements to pick up your plants at the farm. We’d be glad to meet with you and show you around. Off-season, please remember to call ahead at 416-994-7752 (Al’s cell) or 416-994-3248 (Joe’s cell).
